Welcome to
Dance of the Madman's online music catalog featuring the work of
songwriters Keith Stacey Rowe, Lisa Venkatrathnam and other
gifted collaborators. Intentionally blurring the lines between
country, gospel, folk and rock, these songs speak to the depth of the human
experience through powerful themes of faith, pain, beauty,
longing and hope. If you would like to record and perform music
from this site, or need a song written specific to your project,
please contact Dance of the Madman for more information. We'd
love to hear from you!
Keith and Lisa first began collaborating in 2006. Keith saw a
set of Lisa's lyrics on
Christiansongwriting.org
and immediately contacted her to
create music for it. The result is Every Heart,
a powerful song about the lingering shadows in the human soul.
Since then they have been working together
on a regular basis.

are hard to break when they're not made of stone;
The prison's hard to flee when it's made of flesh
and bone..." |

Keith has been writing
songs for years, but "some time after the turn of
the century" it grew into a deeper passion. His song
"Jesus
Loves You," a country/rock remake of the children's
classic Jesus Loves Me, placed first in the
Christian Songwriter's Network 2006 hymn challenge.
"Just As I Am,"
for which Keith created the music to Deb Rempel's lyrics, placed second.
"Every Heart" and "My Son," co-written with Lisa
Venkatrathnam, placed as semi-finalists in the 2008
UK Songwriting Competition. Keith's gifts include the ability to see lyrics for
the first time and hear a completed song; almost all
of his contributions to this site are a result of
that process. He also loves to arrange, engineer and
produce music. Keith and his wife built and live in
a straw bale house near Calgary, Canada, along with
children and other animals. |

Immunity holds constant vigil, crushing down the
serpent soul..." |

Lisa has always felt the pull of the
written word and made writing an integral part of
her career. But it wasn't until the last couple of
years that she felt a call to write songs,
which, she quickly discovered, fed a deep hunger.
Lisa's lyrics have been recognized twice by the
prestigious International Songwriting Competition,
garnering her a spot in the semi-finals in 2006 and
the finals in 2007. In 2007 she won first place in
the Contemporary Christian Music Network
International's lyrics-only contest, and in 2008,
three of Lisa's songs (two of which were co-written
with Keith Stacey Rowe) placed as semi-finalists in
the UK Songwriting Competition.
Lisa lives
in the midwestern United States with her husband,
two children, and Crazy Puppy. You can check out
